What Do You Get When You Cross a Wood Nymph With a Princess?
There was an earthy, of-the-forest quality to the gowns and dresses Marchesa showed for Autumn/Winter 2014: everything appeared light and more disheveled than picture-perfect, with some pieces appearing spun of silken, metallic cobwebs. While we'd expect plush velvet and thick brocade from a typical royal, this HRH would be comfortable lounging barefoot under the shade of an ancient tree. Even lace and laser-cut, typically polished and sharp respectively, somehow felt more relaxed.
Even so, it's chock-full of gowns we could see walking the year's upcoming red carpets. One caveat? Hollywood's best would do well to plan on wearing their hair down when slipping into one of these beauties.
