I have style icons I admire on the red carpet, and then I have style icons who I follow on Instagram, repeatedly directing myself to their pages just to see what they've been wearing. Most of these celebrities have fan accounts too. While I can't say I have the time to dedicate to creating one of those myself (god bless @kendalljennercloset [1] and her speedy updates!) if I did investigate into anyone's wardrobe, it'd be Zoë Kravitz. The Big Little Lies [2] star operates on a whole different level of street style cool — one I didn't even know existed.
When she stepped out in New York City for the 2019 Hulu Upfront, she exhibited her prowess in lime green slacks, a men's striped shirt, worn undone and oversize over a lace camisole, and a long suede duster. Zoë also accessorised with a covetable croc-effect By Far bag [3] in sage, slightly offsetting her slime pants [4]. While some might pull the look together with a pair of white sneakers or a crisp bootie, Zoë dressed for her petite frame [5] in ladylike pumps that gave her just a small boost. Oh, and she painted her nails a neon shade to match, thankyouverymuch.
Zoë is '90s meets 2019 in her nameplate necklace and printed tiny sunglasses — and that's the look so many women are going for right now, myself included [6]. But it all starts with the foundation of bold trousers and a top handle bag. You can add your own crop top and ask your guy friend or your dad for his old button-down. I fully support your decision to attempt an outfit as cool as Zoë's, because babe, I'm right there with you.
