Before Valentino's Haute Couture runway stole the show on Friday 8 July, the crowd of hot pink-clad front-row stars made waves upon their arrival. A slew of famous names flew to Rome's Piazza di Spagna for the event, the majority of them boasting the Italian luxury house's "PP Pink" as the official colour of the season.

First, Anne Hathaway made a compelling case for wearing the vibrant shade from head to toe. She donned a sequin turtleneck top, complete with a peplum hem and a bustier bodice. The long-sleeved design flowed elegantly over a bubble miniskirt, with a fitted waist that billowed out around her. The actress, whose red carpet style has garnered a resurgence of interest, continues to serve inspiration at every turn. Working with her stylist Erin Walsh, she kept the pink theme going with Valentino's platform pumps and Roman stud crossbody bag.

Hathaway was dressed in a Barbiecore-approved creation from the fashion house's unforgettable autumn 2022 ready-to-wear collection, which has dominated the red carpet recently. Other VIP guests opted for ensembles from the same catwalk, including Ariana DeBose, who wore an off-the-shoulder minidress embellished with floral appliqués; Ashley Park, who opted for a plunging minidress with long sleeves; Tommy Dorfman, who sparkled in a sheer top and sequin pants; and Florence Pugh, who also embraced the naked dress trend in a revealing tulle maxi gown. Pugh called out body-shamers for commenting on her breasts in the dress. Meanwhile, a number of notable stars made stunning appearances in other Valentino designs, including Naomi Campbell, Tina Kunakey, and Kate Hudson.

Down the runway of Rome's Spanish Steps, a poetic collection was unveiled, presenting unexpected combinations in vibrant shades and bold volume. A series of romantic bow-embellished gowns and skirts, as well as separates blooming with 3D taffeta roses and feathery styles, exuded the utmost sophistication, while beautifully tailored coats and slouchy suit separates balanced the theatrical effect with everyday practicality.
