Greta Gerwig's "Barbie" [1] European premiere saw an incredibly exciting assortment of looks that packed more of a punch with each celebrity arrival. Dua Lipa, who plays a mermaid Barbie in the movie and has the song "Dance the Night Away [2]" on the "Barbie" album, wowed yet again with her show-stopping style. Fresh from collaborating with fashion house Versace [3] on her own collection, Lipa repped the Italian designer on the pink carpet in London, wearing a plunging sequin midi dress from the pre-fall 2023 collection. With gold straps and intricate cutouts, the floral print glistened all over. Lipa accessorised with a wide choker adorned with coins and butterflies, matching earrings and rings, and strappy blue heels. She wore her hair up in a high ponytail and kept a raspberry lip.
Lipa also shone at the world premiere in LA just a few days before, wearing a totally see-through custom Bottega Veneta dress [4]. She was joined on the pink carpet by Billie Eilish [5], who is one of the artists featured on the film's soundtrack [6]. The singer flaunted one of the most unique takes on Barbiecore fashion [7]. Sticking to her signature aesthetic of streetwear that's slightly offbeat, the 21-year-old musician sported a pinstripe shirt with a bright satin tie; baggy, cropped trousers that gave way to thick baby pink ribbed socks and chunky peach ERL trainers; and a flamingo patent bag from Vivienne Westwood that she swung in the air while posing for pictures.
Of course, Margot Robbie, 33, and Ryan Gosling [8], 42, also attracted plenty of attention on both sides of the pond. Robbie's custom Vivienne Westwood London look was inspired by the 1960s enchanted evening doll as she continues through her meticulously curated press tour wardrobe [9] at the hands of stylist Andrew Mukamal [10].
