With every new teaser that circulates from And Just Like That's costume design, we are increasingly confused and intrigued. On the evening of Wednesday, 20 Oct., the digital fashion world was in a tizzy after a very camp image of Carrie Bradshaw in a head-to-toe granny-chic look took over our social feels — including a babushka scarf, pink gingham dress, and pink latex gloves — followed by a more elegant lehenga designed by Indian couture brand Falguni Shane Peacock.

Spotted on the streets of New York City in front of her iconic brownstone, Carrie Bradshaw (played by Sarah Jessica Parker) seems to be in the midst of a fabulously tragic domestic situation. Holding a cigarette in one hand and her mobile in the other, Carrie wears a pink gingham "Snap" housedress by Batsheva (£90) that features puff sleeves, black piping along the collar and sleeves, a smocked fit, and ruffled hemline. And Just Like That's costume designers Molly Rogers and Danny Santiago paired the odd outfit with fuchsia latex gloves, a pink-and-green babushka hair scarf, oversize sunglasses, demure white Mary Jane shoes, and the most out-of-place navy hoodie we've ever seen.

Some fans are convinced that because her shoes are untied, it signals that her life is unravelling; others think it's a funny scene where Carrie is having plumping issues, while the general consensus is that the outfit is "a lot". The saving grace for this curious behind-the-scenes photo was a preview of Bradshaw in a gorgeous red, teal, and navy blue silk lehenga set (full-length skirt worn by Indian women, with a matching crop top, for formal occasions). The Lekha lehenga set was designed by Indian couturier Falguni Shane Peacock and styled with matching Aquazzura Sundance Plateau woven platform sandals. Keep reading for a closer look.
