I Looked at Over 400 Pants at Old Navy and Found the Most Comfortable Pair

I upgraded my loungewear collection [1] with a number of matching sweats. Then, as much as I loved them, I hit a wall and felt like I needed to find some real pants. I think the sentiment I shared with coworkers was something like, "I have got to find some real pants." Maybe a curse word was in there somewhere too.

I headed over to Old Navy, scrolled through over 400 pairs of pants until I found a pair that looked like it had promise. The Mid-Rise Soft-Twill Utility Pants [2] ($25, originally $40) was exactly what I was looking for. I immediately gravitated to the drawstring — I draw the line at zippers and buttons right now — and purchased them in the army green shade.

As soon as they arrived I ripped them out of the bag and slipped them on. I was dying to know if they'd feel stiff, soft, heavy, etc. See how they stacked up below!

They get an "A" for comfort

They slipped on with ease, had tons of space around the thighs, but didn't look too billowy either.

They passed my "sit test"

One of the first things I do when shopping for comfortable pants is move around in them. I want to know if I have to yank them up when I bend, or if I have to pull them down when I sit on the floor. These were so easy to sit down in! They truly did not bunch anywhere!

They're perfect for tucking a t-shirt into

I'm always curious how high-waisted pants will look once I tuck a t-shirt into them because I don't like when there's a lot of fabric that bunches at the waistband. But these kept their shape.
