Copenhagen Fashion Week has made a name for itself as being — whisper it — the coolest of fashion weeks. Not only are Scandi fashion brands continuing to pave the way for sustainable style, but the likes of Ganni, Stine Goya, and Rotate are taking their SS24 designs to the runway from 7-11 Aug. with an array of lust-worthy looks that will no doubt be on our spring moodboards.

Yet one of the best parts of Copenhagen fashion week is undoubtedly the street style. As attendees arrive in their droves in the Danish capital, the phrase "every street's a catwalk" could not be truer. The weather may have been temperamental, but the fashion crowd have not let the rain deter them from showcasing the most fashion-forward looks.

Preppy aesthetics, double denim, and block colours lit up the pavements as the Copenhagen fashion week guests set about proving that the Scandi capital is one seriously stylish city. Motorcore is set to take over as leather biker jackets get a makeover with patches and racing stripes, while warm brown is the new black as fashion fans opt for a softer take on top-to-toe dressing.

Rarely a season goes by when denim isn't a trend, but the way to wear it comes in many different forms. Moving on from the winter street style set who favoured slouchy silhouettes, for spring/summer we're going back to double denim. Forget any thoughts of Britney and Justin's iconic couple's denim in 2001, this is the "double D" refreshed. Keep the denim wash matching so as to create a streamlined look and play around with proportions. From oversized denim blazers with straight leg jeans to cropped jackets with wide-leg bottoms, double denim is a game of two halves.

Wearing brights for spring/summer is a no-brainer, but if Copenhagen street style is anything to go by, stick to one hue. Upgrade your trusty leather jacket and take inspiration from motorbikes and racing cars. Warmer, softer hues were taking over the Danish streets as brown was the predominant colour. Where black has long been the go-to, chocolate-coloured hues were the order of the day. Think luxe caramel, sumptuous tan, and comforting latte to add to your wardrobe. Brown is the ideal base to team with other warm neutrals like khaki, beige, and cream for a top-to-toe look that is perfectly aligned with the quiet luxury trend.

A trend that cropped up time and time again on the streets of Copenhagen was textured coats. Bright pops of coloured faux fur, chic jewel-toned suede jackets, and even metallic trench coats were the outerwear trends du jour. If the weather calls for layering up, ensure you stand out with a coat that commands attention.

The Copenhagen Street Style set couldn't get enough of denim. But we're not talking jeans-and-a-nice-top ensembles. This is denim 2.0.
