The stars of "The Crown" season 5 [1] were out in force at the world premiere in London on 8 Nov. In celebration of the latest series, released on Netflix on 9 Nov., Australian actor Elizabeth Debicki oozed class in a stunning black Dior gown ahead of her debut as Princess Diana, as she takes over from Emma Corrin [2], who played the "people's princess" in season 4 [3].
The chic black strapless dress, from Dior's spring/summer 22 couture collection, was designed with cutout sections around the ribs and pleats around the chest. With added material around the neck to form a choker, the flowing fabric draped onto the floor, falling over the racerback design. Debicki's gown felt like a modern iteration of Princess Diana [4]'s infamous "revenge dress", which features in the new season. Layering her wrists with stacks of Dior bangles, Debicki's hair was styled into a tousled low bun with wavy face-framing strands while her winged eyeliner and peachy lips were the most sophisticated of finishing touches.
Debicki joined the rest of the new season cast [5] on the red carpet including Imelda Staunton who plays the Queen [6], Dominic West who takes on the role of Prince Charles, and Gillian Anderson, who previously played Margaret Thatcher in the show.
