The co-creator attended the virtual ceremony on April 8 to accept the outstanding comedy series award on behalf of the cast, while wearing a bold button-down shirt covered in what looks to be roses, possibly referencing his TV family.

"When we set out to make Schitt's Creek, we simply wanted to tell funny and hopefully meaningful stories about personal growth, love, empowerment, and bébé crows," the 37-year-old actor said in his acceptance speech. "So we created a town where everyone was not only respected, but they were also supported without question by their neighbours. We had no idea how much that town would become a safe space for our viewers as well."
