Dua Lipa Wears Patrick Star Nipple Pasties over a Fishnet Dress and Pink Thong
In case you don't follow Dua Lipa on Instagram (erm, why not?), her latest photos make a bold fashion statement. Never one to shy away from a risqué ensemble, she uploaded a carousel of snaps on 13 Nov. wearing a pink fishnet dress over a matching pink thong, with just a couple of Patrick Star nipple tassels to cover her modesty.
Currently in Australia on her "Future Nostalgia" tour, Lipa captioned the post, "down undaaaa in bikini bottom ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️". The pink halterneck fishnet dress, with matching elbow-length arm warmers, was totally see-through meaning Lipa's underwear had to be part of the overall look. So of course, she wore a pink thong underneath in the exact same shade as her dress, which was from GCDS's spring/summer 2023 collection. Instead of a bra, the outfit came complete with appliqué nipple pasties in the shape of a star. Although, not just any star, in the form of Patrick Star, the character from the much-loved cartoon, "SpongeBob SquarePants".
And it wasn't just her nipples that were the star of the show. Lipa excelled in the beauty realm, too. Her nails, by Miss Betty Rose, were painted in pink with stars across them all, while her makeup, by Shelby Smith, included heart and star glitter across her eyes above a black eyeliner flick. Her hair was parted to the side by Jake Gallagher and left in soft waves.
Lipa also addressed rumours that she will be performing at the World Cup in Qatar. In an Instagram story on 14 Nov. the "Potion" singer wrote that she will not be performing, and has never been involved in any negotiations to attend the football tournament. "I will be cheering England on from afar and I look forward to visiting Qatar when it has fulfilled all the human rights pledges it made when it won the right to host to World Cup," she wrote. There has been growing backlash and controversy surrounding the country hosting the World Cup despite its outdated human rights laws, including the criminality of same-sex relationships.
While on her world tour, Lipa has served up some incredible looks, from lace-up crop tops to cutout jumpsuits, with a Wednesday Addams-inspired get-up for Halloween in between. This latest look might be straight from a pineapple under the sea, but with Lipa's penchant for inspiring style trends, we have a feeling that SpongeBob himself might become an unlikely fashion muse next season.
