Emily Ratajkowski must be stoked to finally have an office space for her label Inamorata in New York. She posted an excited photo on Instagram with her dog Colombo, who is clearly her best friend and biggest supporter. Emily flaunted one of her signature poses in the 'gram, showing off a white sports bra underneath a leather shirt, high-waisted skinny jeans, and white Nike sneakers. And those socks pulled up over the ankle of her pants — do you see those? — yeah, they're like the elephant in the room! I mean, can we talk about this?
At first I thought that maybe Emily had just been adjusting her outfit before this impromptu photo shoot, but then I realised this layering is, in fact, strategic. You see, Emrata was spotted on a different day exhibiting the exact same style move, this time in a darker pair of skinnies with a red puffer coat. So, is she trying to make this a thing?
The hack is a subtle throwback to the '80s, when bunchy socks were en vogue, although most men and women wore their acid wash denim cuffed to reveal the socks, rather than tucked in. At the same time, it also feels very Tom Cruise in Risky Business — Joel Goodsen's white socks will always be imprinted in my mind just as clearly as his button-down. They made the outfit! Now Emily is playing around with these basics and I'm not sure how to feel about it.
