Mature women of Hollywood are demanding space from a media that has traditionally told us to wither away with age. Needless to say, we are absolutely loving this inspiring narrative shift about being hot at 50 (or any age, for that matter).
From when we were all children, especially as little girls, the older woman in movies and TV has often been painted as the "dowdy mother" or "jealous crone" that pines for the days of her youth. But now, youth is not wasted on the young, and an increasing amount of mature women are becoming the fitness, fashion, and beauty goals of 20-somethings.
