Like the first day of school, the outfits at the first award show of the season announce to the world, "hello, I'm here!" The looks at the Golden Globes [1] did exactly that, as the actresses set the tone for the red carpet with a lineup of looks that are big on glitz, each in its own special way. Some brought the sparkle, like Lucy Boynton in metallic silver, Gugu Mbatha-Raw in a gilded sheath, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who did exactly what we hoped she would and put her own spin on the red carpet with a tweedy, glittery suit. As for Zoe Kravitz [2] and Joey King [3], the two slipped into graphic prints — some bolder than others, both dazzling. And Zoey Deutch [4] wowed us with her brilliantly coloured jumpsuit and megawatt jewels.
