It wasn't that long ago when I found myself staring at a skirt on Instagram. It was simple — an everyday basic [1] that you'd reach for time and again — but it grabbed my attention. I loved the fit, the simple texture, and the length. It was a ribbed maxi with a pull-on stretch waistband (cheers to that), and it had a slight slit on the side. I could see myself wearing it with white sneakers and a t-shirt tucked in or tossing on an oversize sweater and finishing the look with a pair of open-toe heels. You can imagine my joy when I figured out where to buy the skirt (hint: Old Navy [2]!) and that it was on sale for $20. Here it is in all its glory.

I love how this shopper styled the skirt by tying her shirt in a knot and tossing on a denim jacket with rolled sleeves.

Confession: this is the Instagram image that caught my eye. It was the combo of the army-green skirt with the yellow cardigan tucked in that made me say, "I would totally wear that skirt!"

The Rib-Knit Midi Skirt [4] ($20, originally $30) has an elastic waistband and a rayon-blend rib knit that makes it super casual and something that easily lends itself to everyday looks.
