To say I'm inspired by the style in Harry Styles's new "Watermelon Sugar" music video would be downplaying my obsession. Because I have honestly spent the last two hours thinking about and searching for retro-inspired swimwear similar to the designs seen across Harry's beach here. Gingham apple prints! High-waist briefs with little bows! Mix-and-match floral and stripe patterns! Crochet! The options are endless when it comes to choosing a favourite '70s-inspired style. And I don't even want to choose a favourite — I just want to shop all of these playful, kitschy designs until my swim drawer explodes. Can you blame me?
I'd love to know where the costume stylist for Harry's video picked up the adorable two-pieces and monokinis, some of which come with matching cover-ups or beach pants, but I also love that this video has probably sent tons of people shopping for old-school swim silhouettes on a week day, because we could all use a welcome distraction right about now.
