Simone Ashley, Jorja Smith, and Lila Moss Attend Out-of-This-World Jacquemus Show
When French fashion label Jacquemus puts on a show, the world sits up and takes notice. And all eyes were on the autumn 2022 show that took place on 27 June in Camargue Park in the South of France. Guests, including Simone Ashley and Jorja Smith, descended upon the otherworldly location to get a first glimpse at the new Le Papier collection.
Founder Simon Porte Jacquemus's show was a sea of neutrals, creams, and whites as models walked the crystal-salted runway. With a space-age vibe the looks were made up of deconstructed jackets, loose-fitting cargo pants, and cutout shirts.
Lila Moss, 19, made her debut for the brand, and it's clear to see her following in her mum Kate Moss's footsteps. Plus, she flew straight to the South of France after a wild weekend at Glastonbury Festival. Like mother, like daughter!
The British beauty took to Instagram to express her excitement about the opportunity, writing: "merci @jacquemus this whole day was a dream, congratulations on a beautiful show & collection Xxx".
The salt plains also provided the perfect moon moment to showcase Jacquemus's first collaboration with Nike. British singer Jorja Smith is the face of the 15-piece range, proving her fashion kudos are going from strength to strength. The luxe sports collection was four years in the making and finally dropped on 28 June with fashion fans going wild for the Jacquemus x Nike Air Humara trainers.
Smith dressed in a white cropped shirt fastened with rope, a white knotted midi skirt, neutral mules, and oversize hoop earrings for the occasion. Also sitting on the front row was "Bridgerton" star Simone Ashley, who wore a chic beige slip dress with a structured white bag, and Victoria Beckham, who opted to wear a black silk dress with lace overlay, a cropped blazer, and streamlining pantaboots from her own spring/summer 2023 collection. Beckham wrote on her Instagram: "THE SALT MINE IS MY RUNWAY!!!"
Following the show, Jacquemus made it clear he is loyal to his own label. "I want to be the name of my generation. I want to work for Jacquemus — and Jacquemus is a big house," he said, as reported by Vogue.
