When Meghan Markle surprised the models [1] at the photo shoot for her new Smart Set collection [2] — all of whom have actually gone through the Smart Works process and benefited from the charity — they were thrilled to meet her. "She said hi and hugged us and I was like, 'Oh my gosh!' She was styling us. She was welcoming us. She was putting us at ease. It was phenomenal. She was wonderful the whole day," one of the models, Kate-Lily de Graft-Johnson, told People.
We're not surprised Meghan took the time to make connections with the women posing in her workwear pieces. The Duchess of Sussex gave an empowering speech [3] at her launch event, elaborating on the idea of community, and how sacred this project is to her. Rather than joining the models and trying on the looks with them [4], Meghan kept things casual in a With Nothing Underneath striped linen button-down [5] that she wore loosely with rolled sleeves over a pair of jeans. The combination spoke to her signature laid-back style [6], and it's exactly what we envision a "chill stylist" throwing on to get to work.
