The Most Outrageous, Memorable 2020 Golden Globes Dresses

7 Extraordinary Golden Globes Dresses Wild Enough to Dream About

"OMG, did you see her Golden Globes dress last night?" — the words repeated by the coffee machine in the office tomorrow, or better yet, your group chat during the commute to work. While we truly believe that every outfit came with a heavy dose of glamour for the evening's award show, there were seven outfits that stunned, all for different reasons. Billy Porter worked with designer Alex Vinash on a custom creation that had everyone "ooh"ing and "ah"ing over his white swan-esque feathers. Meanwhile, Gwyneth Paltrow arrived bearing her lingerie completely, in a totally sheer Fendi dress. Even more interesting was her accessorising tactic — the actress let diamonds peek out from underneath her transparent neckline, instead of layering her jewels on top. Kerry Washington took a walk on the wild side in a sexy Altuzarra look, complete with the thickest body chain we've ever seen (just imagine wearing a bikini with that)! Ahead, you'll find the dresses that are going to go down in history and definitely make our list of most memorable, most bold, and most risky ensembles to date.

1. Gwyneth Paltrow's See-Through Dress at the 2020 Golden Globes

Gwyneth revealed her lingerie underneath her sheer Fendi ruffled maxi gown. Rather than layering her statement necklace over the high neckline, Gwyneth accessorised in a more subtle way, a style move we're not used to seeing, but one that might have been suggested by her stylist, Elizabeth Saltzman.

2. Taylor Swift's Groovy, Jewel-Tone Floral Dress at the 2020 Golden Globes

Taylor Swift, who was styled by her stylist Joseph Cassell, chose a jewel-tone, floor-sweeping gown from Etro with a cutout at the centre. Her mismatch gemstone earrings accented the colours in her statement number, which she finished with Christian Louboutin shoes.

3. Kerry Washington's Bra-Less Blazer and Silk Skirt at the 2020 Golden Globes

Kerry Washington's Altuzarra look made quite the statement. The actress chose to go bra-less, accessorising her sleek blazer with a thick body chain underneath, which hugged the waistline of her slitted silk skirt. Kerry, styled by Law Roach, finished the ensemble with striking Magda Butrym heels and Marli earrings.

5. Jennifer Lopez's Double Bow Dress at the 2020 Golden Globes

JLo's double bow Valentino gown essentially reminded us of the presents underneath our Christmas tree. What's even more extraordinary? She was swathed in 145 carats worth of Henry Winston emeralds and diamonds!

6. Cate Blanchett's Pleated, Poof-Sleeve Dress at the 2020 Golden Globes

Cate's avant-garde dress (which honestly wasn't too out-of-the-box for the star, who is always fashion forward and adventurous on the red carpet), was a look from British brand Mary Katrantzou. The actress wore Pomellato jewels and Stuart Weitzman shoes, a look brought together by her stylist Elizabeth Stewart.

7. Billy Porter's White Feathered Gown at the 2020 Golden Globes

Billy Porter's custom tuxedo gown was the "white swan" look of the night created by Alex Vinash and accessorised with sparkling Jimmy Choo boots and a metallic box clutch.
