Most Memorable Celebrity Looks of the Decade

These Were the 10 Most Viral Fashion Moments of the Decade

With the decade coming to a close, it's only fitting to take a look back at all of the inspiring fashion moments that shaped these pivotal years. It was a time when someone convinced Lady Gaga that walking a red carpet in meat dress was a great idea. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, aka Kimye, tied the knot in 2014 and made wearing matching "Just Married" wedding leather jackets into a necessity. The 2010s was also a time when Instagram, Twitter, and memes came into existence — honestly, what was life before?

These looks were so memorable, they also started a ton of conversation on the internet and made "going viral" into a thing. For example, Rihanna sparked a thousand memes in furry, yellow, robe-like ensemble by Guo Pei during the China: Through the Looking Glass themed Met Gala in 2015. My favourite had to be the one where Sarah Jessica Parker's Met Gala headpiece, which resembled a flame, helped turn Rih's gown dress into an omelettete. Nowadays it seems like if your red carpet look isn't getting turned into a meme, you're not doing it right. Keep reading to take a look back at some the most memorable looks that shaped this decade.

2012: Angelina Jolie

Sure, slits on award show gowns are nothing new but Angelina Jolie's black Versace number was on another level. In fact, her famous leg pop got it's own Twitter handle, @AngiesRightLeg, and got thousands of followers in just a few hours.

We expected big things from the former first lady's last official state dinner during Barack Obama's presidency, but we weren't ready for this amazing Versace dress that will go down in history. Now, that's what we like to call ending on a high note.

During the 2017 Comme des Garcon-themed Met Gala, Priyanka Chopra wore a custom Ralph Lauren. The trench-coat dress featured a long train that went on for what seemed like miles, serving as prime meme material. The actress responded to haters in the classiest way she could, rounding up her favourite memes of the night on her Instagram account.

All anyone could talk about was Meghan Markle and the royal wedding in 2018. While her wedding dress was gorgeous, it was her second look by Stella McCartney that got everyone buzzing. The dress was so highly requested, the designer actually created a limited amount evening dresses that were identical to the Duchess of Sussex's reception gown.
