Nine times out of 10, you'll see Kate Middleton wearing a perfectly tailored coat. The Duchess of Cambridge has pretty much become known for having an impressive and enviable coat collection, which makes sense as she's constantly attending outdoor events all year long.

In 2021, Catherine continued to show us her impressive collection of sleek Catherine Walker coats. Particularly a dark navy long coat that she wore on two occasions — in May and in Nov. Otherwise, Kate added two new names to her winter engagement wardrobe, including a smart double breasted blue tartan coat by Holland Cooper that she wore during a visit to Scotland with Prince William. Another new addition, which we are most excited about, is a playful azalea pink Max & Co. coat that Catherine wore during a visit to School 21 in Stratford following the reopening of the school and the easing of lockdown restrictions.

In 2020, Kate has reworn many of her favourite coats for her royal appearances. And whilst a majority of the coats are ones we've seen her in over the past couple of years — mostly long, streamlined, and double-breasted from brands like Alexander McQueen, Catherine Walker, and Massimo Dutti — this year she also managed to break out a coat that she's owned since before she was a duchess, inspiring us to go back through our wardrobe and see what we can find.

Keep reading to take a look at her best coat moments from over the years.
