Rebecca Minkoff famously included a model breastfeeding at her Fall 2019 show during NYFW last season, and for Spring, she celebrates her brand's 15th anniversary. Rebecca partnered with breast pump company Medela once again, working breast pumps seamlessly into her presentation to include one of the many facets of life that her woman experiences.

Rebecca is constantly making livable clothes for her customers, and she knows them well, confirming to me that the empowering voices she invites onto her Superwomen podcast are her soul food. "They make me spiritually happy and they are my customers at the end of the day, so I want to make them feel great," she told me when I talked to her at the Spring 2020 presentation and acknowledged her ongoing commitment to championing successful women.

With Minkoff's 15th year also comes the launch of a childrenswear line, aptly called "Little Minkoff." The pieces have that air of '70s rocker cool that RM looks are known for (this season pays homage to nostalgia through "surfer California rock n' roll"), and the cotton moto coats are so adorable, I want to order one in my size. "They really tie back into who we are as a brand," Rebecca said. But she also noted that she doesn't love mommy-and-me dressing when it's too matchy-matchy. "I like it when it's like a sweatshirt on a kid and a dress on a mom — like coordination, but not twinning." It's certainly easy to master that aesthetic with the mix of romantic, playful prints, everyday ruffled midi dresses, and touches of leather Rebecca serves up here.

As I congratulated Rebecca on her career and ventured off to snap yet another photo of the miniature "GRL PWR" tees, I suddenly wondered if she has a favourite piece from the past 15 years. "I mean, the bag that started it all — the Morning After Bag (M.A.B.)," she tells me with a humble smile, referencing the iconic, throw-it-all-in satchel that launched her career as a handbag designer, and, at its core, was really just created with function in mind to make a woman's life easier — easier and chic, that is.
