Rihanna's annual Diamond Ball always delivers for some epic celebrity red carpet style. Held this year at Cipriani Wall Street in NYC, the fifth stageing of the event renewed its commitment to The Clara Lionel Foundation. As for the belle of the ball, Rihanna wore a gorgeous black-and-white long-sleeved, velvet fishtail gown from Givenchy's Autumn 2019 couture collection, with white pointed-toe pumps. But the best part of her look was the unexpected-yet-elegant white crinoline hemline.
We were actually surprised to see Rihanna — a master of the dramatic red carpet look — wearing a gown to her own Diamond Ball that was so demure. The black turtleneck and long sleeves are not a usual staple of the singer-turned-fashion-and-beauty-billionaire. Thankfully, Rihanna gave us something to gawk at with that exceptionally fabulous crinoline fishtail skirt. She paired her classic ensemble with a statement red lip, shimmering gold eyeshadow, pearl earrings, and a tousled high bun.
