Rihanna and ASAI Are Launching an Exclusive 24-Piece Collection at Selfridges Today
This is major. Rihanna — who just won the Urban Luxe award at the British Fashion Awards — is launching a 24-piece only collection today, Dec. 11, at Selfridges London. The limited capsule is a collaboration between Rihanna's Fenty and up-and-coming British designer ASAI.
ASAI is a name you need on your radar. The innovative fashion house is created by British-Chinese-Vietnamese designer A Sai Ta, who is a recent graduate of London's fashion design incubator, Fashion East. The label, ASAI, has blow up in the past three years since being founded. Their signature Hot Wok aesthetic (which is sheer, tie-dye fitted tops and dresses featuring a multi-coloured patchwork design) has become a favourite of stars like Rihanna and Jorja Smith, not to mention that it was all over Notting Hill Carnival in 2018.
The Fenty x ASAI limited capsule will be a rework of Fenty's City Bloom — a collection of Autumn/Winter ready-to-wear pieces that was launched exactly a month ago, on Nov. 11. Fenty x ASAI will offer a 24-piece limited edit of Fenty's City Bloom reimagined through the lens of ASAI's Hot Wok aesthetic.
