Rita Ora was just one of the stars who stole the spotlight on the 2023 Met Gala red carpet. On 1 May, Ora arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in a sheer Prabal Gurung corset dress with a dramatic train. The tulle gown was composed of pleated silk chiffon and hand-embroidered silk organza embellished with satin flowers. As she walked alongside the well-dressed crowd [1], including her husband, Taika Waititi, Ora couldn't help but show off her romantic — yet edgy — ensemble from all angles.
The top of the dress featured a low-cut sweetheart neckline with asymmetrical, off-the-shoulder sleeves that trailed off into a huge train studded with satin roses. Across her waist, strips of black fabric created a wrap illusion broken up by sheer panels. At her right side, the sheer cutout dipped past her bum.
The cutout revealed her hip tattoo [2] and plunged into a ruffled skirt adorned with shimmering floral appliqués. Ora's dress cutout also showcased her toned abs and arms, which she's been working on in the gym for weeks [3]. She styled the outfit with black platforms, stacked bangles in multiple shades, and a wild set of chain nails [4] that nearly draped down to the floor.
In the weeks leading up to the gala, Ora experimented with several revealing looks, including an ab-baring leather midi skirt [5] during a press day in London on 20 April. A day earlier, she wore a backless Prada minidress [6]. The same month, she stepped out in a micro miniskirt and black leather cowboy boots [7]. Ora certainly isn't afraid to bring the drama to her wardrobe, and her Met Gala look is no exception.
