British-Asian designer Supriya Lele made her official London Fashion Week debut with a collection that walked the line between a modern, urban sensuality and a soft, feminine elegance for Spring 2020.

Inspired by the juxtaposition of Indian heritage within bleak, British suburban landscapes, Supriya Lele wants the wearer to feel the fusion of her complex cultural identity. The sensual, ruched draping of the sari's wrapped skirt was reimagined with revealing sheer, mesh fabrics layered around the body. The blouse of the traditional sari was also reworked into a technical, athleisure-inspired crop top that resembled a microsize bandeau bikini top.

Leather pieces, cycling shorts, and heeled flip-flops were also present throughout the 18-look collection. Black leather jackets, coats, and crop tops paired with the mesh layering gave the collection a sexy, deconstructed, and urban edge that balanced out the feminine palette of pastels and vivid neon shades. Bike shorts paired with bikinis also presented a very Western blend of sportswear and swimwear. While the black mid-heel flip-flop sandals worn with every look confirmed that this is Summer's favourite shoe, the strappy mid-heel sandal will be adorning our pavements well into Spring 2020.

Ahead is every look from Supriya Lele's debut catwalk show for London Fashion Week's Spring 2020 season.
