Originally termed "Press Week" in 1943, Fashion Week [1] is an industry event that showcases the latest offerings from established and emerging fashion designers [2] and houses. The popular event also welcomes a star-studded crowd of celebrities [3] and street style stars [4] for a series of runway shows and presentations.
Starting with New York and ending with Paris, Fashion Month is a biannual occurrence that takes place in February and September at the most prominent fashion capitals of the world: New York [5], London [6], Milan [7], and Paris [8]. Other global Fashion Weeks take place in Copenhagen, Johannesburg, Seoul, and Shanghai, among many other places. Although some designers don't adhere to the conventional calendar dates, those who do unveil their collections for seasons ahead, which means you'll be taking note of fall trends in the spring and spring trends in the fall. Some festivities kick off prior to the official dates.
While some household names, like Michael Kors and Tory Burch, and major fashion houses, such as Saint Laurent, Dior, and Gucci, regularly participate in Fashion Week, others, including Christopher John Rogers and Peter Do, sometimes skip a season in favour of releasing collections on their own schedule. This shift toward more seasonless fashion has become more popular since the pandemic. Outside of these womenswear shows, there are also menswear, resort, and haute couture shows [9] that happen at different times of the year.

New York Fashion Week
New York Fashion Week is returning this season on Friday, September 9, with 109 confirmed designers and brands that will present, according to The Council of Fashion Designers of America [10]. Among them, heritage labels such as Carolina Herrera, Michael Kors, Tory Burch, Coach, and Tommy Hilfiger will present their spring 2023 collections. This season is also marked by the presence of Milan-based house Fendi, that will be hosting a runway show in celebration of the 25th anniversary of its iconic Baguette bag.
When Is New York Fashion Week Spring Summer 2023?
Kicking off the season, New York Fashion Week officially starts on Friday, Sept. 9 and runs through Wednesday, Sept. 14.
London Fashion Week
London Fashion Week will combine digital and physical elements that will showcase a range of womenswear and menswear brands from Sept. 16 to the 20th. While the schedule is still being finalized, the anticipation is high for JW Anderson, which will return to the scene this season.

Following New York Fashion Week, London Fashion Week will start on Friday, September 16 and ends on Tuesday, September 20.
Milan Fashion Week
Milan Fashion Week will happen from September 20 to 26, and will feature Gucci's return to the week as well as Matthieu Blazy's second collection for Bottega Veneta. Diesel, Fendi and Prada are big names to watch. There's also Glenn Martens, who will be hosting his next runway show on September 21, and opening it up tot he public.

Keeping up with the momentum, Milan Fashion Week will start on Tuesday, September 20 until Monday, September 26.
Paris Fashion Week
Paris Fashion Week will close out the spring 2023 season and is set to take place from September 26 to October 4. Victoria Beckham [11] is expected to present her namesake brand's collection, according to WWD [12]. Other anticipated debuts that include Zimmermann, A.W.A.K.E. Mode, and newcomer Weinsanto.
