Anne Hathaway Preemptively Warns Fat Shamers That She's Gaining Weight For a New Movie

She famously documented her beautiful transformation in the 2001 hit movie The Princess Diaries, but now, Anne Hathaway is warning everyone that she has another transformation on the way, and it's not as glamorous as the Princess of Genovia's. On Thursday, the 35-year-old actress took to Instagram to share a badass video of her crushing a strength-training workout alongside a message to future haters. "I am gaining weight for a movie role and it is going well," she wrote. "To all the people who are going to fat shame me in the upcoming months, it's not me, it's you. Peace xx."

As a society, have we really gotten to the point where we need to warn people we're gaining weight to avoid the negative comments? Fans immediately chimed in on Anne's video, flooding her comments section with praise, writing things like, "You are beautiful and inspiring. Good luck on your gym journey!" and "GO QUEEN! Move that bod, and work to enjoy every godd*mn second in your skin!"

This is not the first time Anne has spoken out about body image. After giving birth to her son Jonathan in April of 2016, she shared a photo on Instagram after cutting her jeans into jean shorts. "There is no shame in gaining weight during pregnancy (or ever). There is no shame if it takes longer than you think it will to lose the weight (if you want to lose it at all). There is no shame in finally breaking down and making your own jean shorts because last Summer's are just too dang short for this Summer's thighs. Bodies change. Bodies grow. Bodies shrink. It's all love (don't let anyone tell you otherwise.)"
