Never did I think when I started my fitness journey I would be okay with gaining weight back 😱😱 Mentally I thought I would never be okay with weight gain again. But I can feel and see myself becoming stronger and that outweighs the worry of gaining some weight back. ⠀⠀⠀ I always had the mentality that weights would make me bulky. But they don’t!! Incorporating #bbgstronger and lifting into my routine has definatley helped me get some muscle definition, strength, and has helped me tone up a bit. So what changed this time? This account! I had this account each of the other times as well but I didn’t interact much with others. Once I started engaging with other people doing the same program, I found the accountability and motivation I needed to stick with it. I found my tribe through the #100strong group created by @to_fitspo, Katie got together a group of women from all over the world and with the help of @balancing.fit kept us connected, motivated and inspired. Through this group, I connected with so many of my now #fitfriends and it really is all of your support and encouragement that kept me going for 24 weeks. Thank you for keeping me inspired! Almost 6 months! I can’t believe it. . For the #bbgnewbies reading this, I can tell you there were no perfect weeks...a lot of weeks I struggled for motivation, I was tired, sometimes lazy, sometimes it felt like a chore (especially in the beginning) but I stuck with it and kept pushing forward each week. Even if I only got 1 bbg workout in a week, I still moved on to the next week. Changes don’t happen overnight, but if you stay consistent, they will happen. You WILL get STRONGER. You WILL FEEL BETTER. . Take your progress pictures...there is no better feeling then when you think you’ve made zero progress and then finally one week you compare the side by side and are pleasantly surprised to see all the hard work is paying off. I never would have thought in a million years that I would feel more confident in a swimsuit being a mom of two than I did in high school and college. It has been so empowering to set a goal, put HARD work, patience and consistency into it and see the rewards both mentally and physically. Being a mama is incredible, but so hard at the same time. Waking up each morning and pushing myself gave me something to kick start my day, connect with my other mama friends and has become my therapy session. It's crazy what persistence can do. (Sorry for the crappy IPhone 5c pics) # Wanna know a fun fact? # Along with failing other programs, I quit #Bbg 3 times before I completed the program in full. First time, I think I lasted 3 weeks. The next was 5. Then 8. Until finally I found the groove. Why do I think I failed so many times? Well, because that's life... and this program is HARD. It's not Sunshine's and rainbows. And as gorgeous as @kayla_itsines looks in her IG, working out like a damn super model, most of us are drenched in sweat like beached whales on the mat, flopping onto the toilet seat bc were so sore we can't hold ourselves up, and doing 10 loads of laundry a week bc we don't have a big enough workout wardrobe to supply our gym habits. BBG requires discipline. Discipline that is really hard and feels near impossible to have if the rest of your life is in shambles. # I didn't mean for any of that to sound negative. I appreciate the living heck out of a program that pushes you to get your shit together. Physically and mentally. And whether you fail 5 times..... it may be that 6th that you actually finish. Regardless, you're working on a better you! # Moral of the story: @kayla_itsines is one heck of a motivator and a pusher. She pushes your limits. Tests your commitment. And requires you to find balance to achieve success with her program. So glad to have stumbled on this amazing community.... I have been on and off with starting her 12 week program for the past 3 years and never fully completed the first round. After getting engaged last year, I was determined to start my fitness journey early and get through it. After I finished the 12 weeks I said why stop there? I continued to 24 weeks and then made it my goal to do an entire year. With the help of this program, playing volleyball, and now adding @onepeloton workouts to my regimen, I was able to lose 20 lbs and reach my goal weight!
