Bob Harper's Protein Tips

After Losing 40 Pounds, Bob Harper Reveals How Much Protein He Eats at Every Meal

Bob Harper drastically transformed his life after suffering a heart attack last year. He went from eating a low-carb Paleo diet to a higher-carb, plant-based diet. As a part of this process, the former The Biggest Loser trainer lost nearly 40 pounds and gained a new perspective on life.

But while Bob eats plenty of veggies and healthy carbs, he still eats some lean protein. He opened up about his protein hacks in an Instagram video for a series he calls #TwoCupsIn. In the caption of his video, Bob recommends taking the amount you weigh in pounds and eating 75 percent of that in grams of protein. So if you weigh 150 pounds, you should aim to eat about 112.5 grams of protein a day.

"Every single time that I eat, I have about four ounces of protein," Bob said in the video. "My protein consists of egg whites, Greek yoghurt, I'll do lean meats, a lot of fish. That's kind of where I get most of my protein, and it works for me."

Bob went on to say he's happy with the results of his blood work at his doctor's appointments following his heart attack in 2017. He also encouraged his followers to go to their doctors and get their blood work done.

Considering Bob has lost nearly 40 pounds and is in the best shape of his life, we'll take his advice on loading up on protein. Protein helps you build muscle and will keep you feeling full. Need some inspo? Check out our list of the best high-protein foods.
