Can You Stop Being High? What to Know in Case You Overdo It on Weed

One of the most common mistakes marijuana newbies make is smoking or consuming more than they can handle. When you're unsure of your limits, the golden rule is always to start low and slow. But with that being said, even the most seasoned stoners can get higher than they intend from time to time. Once you do reach the point of no return, there are steps you can take to make your high less anxiety-inducing and more enjoyable, including taking a shower and making yourself as comfortable as possible. But unfortunately, there isn't much else you can do other than letting time or sleep sober you up.

The next best thing to do is to try counteracting the effects of THC with CBD, which we've found to be effective with certain products. Each person reacts differently to THC (the psychoactive cannabinoid) and CBD (which is nearly nonpsychoactive in recommended doses), so you may want to experiment with different methods of consumption to see what works best for you. For example, although CBD oil and vape pens didn't reverse my high, a 50 mg CBD candy was extremely helpful in bringing me down.

If you don't have any CBD readily available, don't panic! (No, seriously — it'll make your high so much worse.) Be sure to hydrate plenty, get some fresh air, control your breathing, find some personal space, and relax. This too shall pass!
