Does Cocoa+ Protein Chocolate Taste Nice?

Cocoa+'s New Milk Chocolate May Be Protein-Packed, but Does It Taste Good?

You should know by now that eating healthy isn't about going cold turkey on your favourite things. Instead, think of it as an opportunity to modify your not-so-healthy foods so they don't just satisfy your taste buds, they sustain your health, too.

While you could definitely find tons of recipes for how to get a healthy chocolate fix, British chocolate company Cocoa+ is cutting out all the hard work by launching a new high-protein milk chocolate bar. According to Cocoa+, a side-by-side comparison of 100 grams of dairy milk and Cocoa+'s high-protein milk chocolate shows that the former has 56 grams of sugar, seven grams of protein, and 20 percent cocoa content, while the latter boasts 20 grams of sugar, 27 grams of protein, and 40 percent cocoa.

Nutritional claims aside, for most chocolate-lovers, the real test is in the taste. Read on to see what three of POPSUGAR's chocolate connoisseurs think about the new kid on the confectionery block.

Verdict:

  • "It doesn't have the same melt-in-your-mouth consistency as normal milk chocolate, but it has the same sweet taste, which I'm not mad at! Tastes a bit like Galaxy chocolate without the extra creaminess."
  • "It has a really rich creamy aftertaste and reminds me a bit of Advent calendar chocolate. I can see it working really well in cooking."
  • "It's very chocolatey; almost like cocoa powder/medjool date brownies. It's a bit like dark chocolate, so I'd choose it over normal milk chocolate because it's rich and I'd end up only eating a few squares rather than a whole bar!"
