The Orgasm Dictionary: Learn the Different Spots in the Female Body Beyond "G"

02/10/2018 - 11:03 PM

You may have at least heard of the G-spot [1], but there are several other pleasure zones in the female body that are worth learning about. Familiarizing yourself with these lesser-known areas could be key to unlocking your orgasm potential. In fact, only a quarter of women [2] are able to orgasm by vaginal penetration alone. The majority of us need some sort of clitoral stimulation to get off. But if you're looking for new ways (and places) to please, let us introduce you to the following. Whether or not these zones can be medically recognised is still up for debate, but there's no harm in exploring your body further.

G-Spot

Let's start with the most familiar. The G-spot is located about a couple inches inside the vagina, on the front of your vaginal wall (closest to your stomach). This area's texture is said to feel slightly spongy to the touch and swells when you're aroused. You can locate your G-spot using a vibrator with a curved tip or by sliding your index finger into your vagina and curling it toward your belly button. The best positions to access this zone [4] are woman on top or doggy style.

A-Spot

The A-spot is a pleasurable patch of sensitive tissue [5] located at the inner ends of the vaginal tube between the cervix and the bladder. Reaching about an inch or two further back from your G-spot, curve your fingers into a hook and feel for little digits. While the G-spot is better suited for achieving full-body orgasms, the A-spot is better for intensifying sensitivity and sensation during foreplay. Doggy style is best for hitting this area, while sex toys specifically made for G-spot stimulation (curved with a different-size bulb on each end) are also recommended.

U-Spot

This one is often easier to find because it's located at your vaginal opening between the clitoris and urethra, where we urinate from. The U-spot is incredibly sensitive, so gently stroke or tap the area without applying too much pressure.

O-Spot

Also known as the "deep spot," the O-spot is positioned further inside the vagina behind the cervix. You can find it by curling your middle finger toward the back vagina wall (opposite of your G-spot). Thanks to its location, anal sex [6] best stimulates the O-spot since the anal walls are located directly on the other side.

When exploring each of these female erogenous zones, it's important that you're relaxed and aroused. Have fun finding new ways to climax!
