Germany Aljona Savchenko Bruno Massot Pairs Skating Routine

If Team Germany's Figure Skating Pair Nails This 1 Move, They'll Likely Win Gold

Pyeongchang 2018 will be 34-year-old Aljona Savchenko's fifth Olympics. Favored for gold this year, Team Germany's five-time World Champion pairs skater has never won a gold medal, though she took home bronze in 2010 and 2014. This year she has a new partner by her side — Bruno Massot — and an exquisite routine to "That Man" by Caro Emerald.

Speaking of that routine, it's definitely going to be one to watch this year. Peep the video from last year when the pair took home silver at the 2017 World Championships; they have been fine tuning it for their trip to the Winter Games this February. If they can pull off that incredible triple flip at the 1:05 mark, they're poised to level up from silver to gold in South Korea.

The triple twist is a required move according to The Washington Post, but an airborne Aljona apparently "generates so much height that she sometimes flies above the frame of the television camera."
