We can only dream of looking as freakin' phenomenal as Halle Berry does. She stunned us on the red carpet of the NAACP Image Awards and looked more like she was 21 than 51. So what's her secret? It all really comes down to hard work and dedication to health. And, of course, her diet. Let's take a peek at her diet and exercise regimen.
She's Been Kicking Ass
Recently, Halle's secret has been fighting. Seriously! The mom of two just started a "Fitness Friday" on her Instagram (how's that for dedication?), highlighting her favourite trainer: actor, stuntman, MMA fighter, and lead kickboxing instructor at Brick in Los Angeles Peter Lee Thomas. "With his help, I have learned so much about fitness and nutrition," she said in her caption. "I'm excited to share it with all of you. He's taught me boxing, self defence, and much more. Not only am I in the best shape of my life, but I can actually defend myself and most importantly . . . my children! As a woman there is nothing more empowering."
We're feeling pretty inspired — she's not the only one who's been going for boxing as a form of physical fitness. Gal Gadot, Demi Lovato, and Gina Rodriguez are just a few of Hollywood's leading ladies who love a little sparring.
Her Diet? Ketogenic
Speaking of learning about nutrition, Halle revealed on Live With Kelly and Ryan that she has been using the ketogenic diet to manage her diabetes. "Nothing white," she said. "No sugar, no carbs." She focuses on training her body to "burn healthy fats," like "avocado, coconut oil, butter," but no sugar. "That's the secret!"
