Health-Ade Kombucha Jalapeño Kiwi-Cucumber

This New Kombucha Flavour Tastes Like a Jalapeño Margarita, and We're Not Mad About It

I've been obsessed with kombucha for nearly 10 years now, ever since I was in college and read about all the good-for-your properties of this fizzy, fermented tea. Kombucha is full of probiotics, which feed the good bacteria in your gut, and can boost your immunity and aid in digestion. And since it's made from tea, it contains lots of healthy antioxidants in the form of polyphenols. Plus, it's super tasty.

I especially love kombucha that's infused with other fruity or spicy flavours, such as ginger, strawberry, cranberry, and lemon. So when Health-Ade announced a new flavour in the form of jalapeño kiwi-cucumber, I knew I had to get my hands on it. After all, one of my favourite cocktails is a spicy margarita (especially a spicy margarita made with cucumber), so I was intrigued about drinking jalapeño in my kombucha.

The lovely people at Health-Ade sent me a couple cases of jalapeño kiwi-cucumber and I was eager to try it. Right away when you open the bottle, you can smell the spice from the jalapeño. When I tried it, the jalapeño was definitely the dominant flavour, but you could taste the notes of the kiwi and cucumber, too. It wasn't too spicy, which I liked since I could then enjoy the whole bottle. Plus, cucumber is refreshing and the kiwi adds the perfect amount of sweetness. Each bottle is 80 calories, 14 grams of carbs, and 14 grams of sugar.

Overall, I really liked this kombucha flavour and can't wait to sip on it all summer. It has inspired me to get creative and make some jalapeño kiwi-cucumber kombucha cocktails and mocktails. Booze and probiotics? Win-win.
