How Our Bodies Can Look Different in Different Positions

This "Instagram Vs. Reality" Photo Isn't Like All the Others

If you scroll through Instagram, you'll often see "Instagram vs. Reality" side-by-side photos. Some show belly rolls, or thicker thighs, and some show cellulite.

This photo comparison posted by body-positive and self-love advocate, Sara Puhto (known as saggysara) shares the same powerful message — we all have different bodies and no one looks perfect all the time. But what sets this post apart is that Sara says, "Don't let the way you feel about your body stop you from enjoying yourself. Don't let your insecurities stop you from making memories." She reminds us that when we look back a few years from now, you want to remember all the fun you had with your friends. You don't want it to stick out in your mind "that you left early because you didn't feel good about yourself or because someone took a 'bad' photo of you."

The next time you're feeling self-conscious or you're thinking about not going to some event or doing something because you feel bad about how your body looks, "remember that you are your own worst critic." So stop being so damn critical!

Every body is different and our bodies look different at various angles, depending on whether we're sitting, standing, or laying down. Certain angles aren't better than others just because they're the ones glorified on media. Your body is normal, and worthy, and you don't need to change anything about yourself. "You are absolutely amazing the way you are 🌴☀️"
