Disneyland is doing its part to spread awareness of plant-based meat, and it's serving up the "meatball" sub of vegetarians' dreams. The Paradise Garden Grill at Disney California Adventure is now offering a No Meatball Sub ($11) made with the official Impossible Burger, which is a pretty big damn deal. The Impossible Burger is known for its sizzling "meat" that's strikingly similar in texture to a real beef patty, and since its launch in 2016, it's been making its way to more and more restaurants in the US. This Disneyland spot is using the plant-based meat in a creative way — and omnivores are loving it.

According to Foodbeast, Paradise Garden Grill makes the No Meatball Sub by combining Impossible Burger meat with real eggs and cheese to form meatballs. Served on a roll with chips on the side, the meatballs are covered in tomato sauce and real mozzarella cheese. So while the sub is not vegan, it's definitely expanding the Disneyland food options for vegetarians — which is a great place to start!

As for availability, we can only hope this becomes a permanent menu item. But in the meantime, it's available during the California Adventure Food and Wine Festival, which runs from March 2 through April 12. It's not unheard of to find healthy-ish options at Disneyland, but it's not the easiest either. Knowing that vegetarian subs and vegan burgers are on Disney's mind makes us even more excited to plan a trip.
