Joe Wicks, aka The Body Coach [1], is all about finding ways to make exercise a part of your everyday life [2], because we all know that going to the gym can sometimes feel like a massive chore. That's why so many of his videos are short and can be done at home. Spare five minutes? Get going. Got 15 minutes while your dinner is in the oven? Whip out the exercise mat. Joe's workouts are quick and easy to learn, but they're certainly not easy to do! HIIT (that's high-intensity interval training [3]) isn't easy, but it gets results. Maybe going to the gym feels like just a little too much to begin with, but you want to build strength and increase your fitness level? If you're not quite ready to jump into Joe's famous 90 Day Plan [4] (with all its many requirements [5]), the videos on his YouTube channel are the perfect introduction to his workouts. We've compiled the very best beginner workouts, with each one getting a little tougher as the days go on (and we've even added in a couple of rest days!). Grab a water bottle and load up the first video — it's time to HIIT it.

How to Warm Up Before a HIIT Session

Wicks doesn't include a warm up in his HIIT videos, but you should still do one before you get stuck in. Don't skip it because the workouts are short, that's how you'll injure yourself.

Absolutely Beginners HIIT Workout

An introduction to HIIT training that's brilliant for total beginners. This one is 20 minutes long, but he talks you through everything.

Low Impact HIIT

A straightforward workout that's "easy on the kneesy" (he says this a lot in his videos). This one is good for beginners or if you're getting back into exercise after an injury. It's 14 minutes long.

Beginners HIIT Workout

We love that so many of Joe's workout videos are low impact and aimed at beginners. This one is 15 minutes.

Easy on the Kneesy Low Impact Combat HIIT

Need to work your upper body and want to give your knees a bit of a rest? This is the workout you need.

20 Minute Cardio & Core HIIT Workout

However hard this workout feels at the time, just know that it'll be over in 20 minutes.

15-Minute Beginner HIIT

A beginner-level workout that's just 15 minutes long. There are only 5 exercises, and you get to rest after each 30 second burst.

15-Minute Full Body HIIT

The next step up in Wicks' latest series, the Full Body Beginners HIIT session is just 15 minutes long. You've spent longer than that choosing what film to watch on Netflix.

Intermediate Fat Burning HIIT

You'll be done with this intermediate fat burning HIIT session in just 15 minutes.

HIIT & Abs Finisher

This 15 minute session features a 3 minute "abs finisher" to round things off and work your core.

Intermediate Full Body HIIT

Just 5 exercises and 15 minutes is all you need to raise that heart rate to the roof. Sorry, this one has burpees.

HIIT With Tabata Style Finisher

This workout is broken into two sections: a HIIT full body workout and then a really intense second half. There are burpees in this one, too. Joe Wicks really likes burpees.

15 Moves, 15 Minutes

The title of this one says it all. You'll do 15 moves in 15 minutes. After this you won't do any more moving for quite a long time after.

16 Minute Low Impact No Noise Hotel HIIT

Staying in a hotel but want to work out without annoying the people in the room below? This is for you. It could also be very handy if your downstairs neighbours have kids.

5 Minute Abs

The title of this says it all: it's an abs workout that'll be over in five minutes. Try adding it to the end of a longer HIIT session.

6 Minute Abs

A slightly longer workout than the previous one, another great addition to your HIIT.

7 Minute Abs

8 minute Abs

Eight exercises, 20 seconds on each one, then repeat. It sounds simple, but you might feel differently six minutes in.

9 Minute Abs

A full ab workout in less than the time it takes for your housemate to get out of the shower? We're sold.

A ten-minute abs workout for those of you who think you don't have time to exercise.

Like a little variation in your workout? This one has 20 different exercises to keep things interesting.

This video has a little bit of everything, because we are very easily distracted. It'll really work your core.

Necker Island HIIT

Get some total lifestyle envy as Joe does his workout on a beach on Necker Island, while you're in your living room with pouring rain outside.

20 Minute Tabata HIIT

Tabata style training is really intense - 20 seconds of exercises and only 10 seconds of rest. Work up to this one, even Joe looks like he's finding it hard.
