Fitness influencer and Sweat trainer Kelsey Wells has inspired her 1.4 million Instagram followers to get fit and transform their bodies, whether through sharing workouts on the 'gram or her own PWR training program. The superfit trainer also opened up about her own transformation in a Sept. 12 post on Instagram.
She shared side-by-side photos that showed an apparent physical transformation. But for Kelsey, the transformation goes beyond the changes in her body. "I struggled with a lack of confidence in myself my whole life," she wrote in her caption. "Constantly compared myself to others and felt I never measured up. Picked myself apart, automatically focussed on my 'flaws,' internalized my failures, downplayed my successes and wasted WAY too much time and energy worrying about how others perceived me."
Kelsey continued that she didn't find confidence once her body changed; instead, she started to find confidence in the process of treating her body better and putting her health first. "Pushing through my workouts and prioritizing my health empowered me to push through the burdens of life and prioritize myself," she said.
"You are stronger than you know," she continued. "You are beautiful and one-of-a-kind. But me or anyone else telling you that is NOT enough. You must tell yourself and work to believe it. . . . Fight for yourself. You will be amazed to learn who you truly are, and what you can do."
Kelsey's message of self-love and acceptance is powerful for everyone to hear. You can change your body all you want, but if you don't work to love yourself as you are and as a complete person, you will never truly be confident. We also love her message that confidence is not arrogance; instead, it's imperative to live your best life.
