When It Comes to Marathons, the Best Spectators Hold Signs — Here's Some Inspiration

30/10/2018 - 06:55 PM

We believe in all the runners out there, especially those that choose to go the full 26.2 miles to conquer the marathon [1]. You can and should cheer on your friends, as well as random strangers, as they pound the pavement. We do suggest you take a sign. Not only do these motivate the marathoners, they entertain them, too. A good chuckle can have a similar effect of a gel pack around mile 19. Peruse these signs, find some poster board and markers, and get crafting. Your runner needs you!

Highlight the multiple interpretations of marathons.

Christopher wants to see people running.

It's a classic sentiment.

This sign was approved by Yoda.

Get the runners questioning why they started.

Stranger things have happened on a marathon course.

A whining sign can be surprisingly motivational.

I am sure the runners will empathize if you're holding this one.

Maybe this sign only works in Austin, but damn we love queso.

"Back when I ran the NYC Marathon . . ."

Nursery rhymes can help.

Ouch . . . this pun is painful.

Help them pound that pavement.

If sled dogs could talk.

A little political commentary never hurts.

Seriously!

This one is so true.

Channel a Ryan Gosling meme and you will inspire.

Running in an alternate universe.

Definitely for after mile 17.
