Destiny's Child Michelle Williams Said This Is How Fitness Helped Her Mental Health Journey

In honour of Mental Health Awareness Month [3], Michelle Williams [4] got honest on Instagram about her mental health. She started off her caption saying, "A part of taking care of your mental health is fitness/working out!"

Michelle went on to explain that she doesn't work out for the physical gains. "I actually work out because of how I feel afterward. Yes, the physical results I see in the mirror are cool but the place I was in mentally, physically, spiritually, and emotionally in December is different from where I am today," she said.

Before Michelle began working out, there was "anger, disappointment, depression, and shame just oozing out of my pores but I had to take control," she explained. Although Michelle said she's found peace and light, she's still on a mental health journey. "Work out, make your circle smaller [5], pray, eat good, be kind, go to therapy, and mind ya business is the start of a healthy mind and heart," according to Michelle.

Michelle promised to share more of her journey, and we're so happy she's feeling stronger mentally!
