Popsugar Health & Fitness Running Shoes Nike Joyride Running Shoes Nike's Joyride Collection Is Designed to Make Your Running Routine Easier Than Ever 25 July 2019 by Chanel Vargas Image Source: NIKE Nike just announced its Joyride running shoe, which is designed to be more comfortable than ever, and I might just have to get a pair as a (very) early Christmas present for myself. Whether you're a runner with an everyday routine or more of a casual "when I can" kind of runner, like me, chances are you're on the hunt for a pair of running shoes that don't have your feet aching after a few blocks. Designed to cushion every step with impact-absorbent pods, Nike's Joyride collection is meant to ease the running experience as much as possible, the brand said in a press release. But how exactly do they work? Inspired by the fact that running on a softer surface, like grass or dirt, is easier on the legs and body than running on synthetic track or pavement, Nike engineered a unique cushioning system made out of pods filled with thousands of TPE (similar to plastic and rubber) beads. These beads are dispersed within the pods at the base of the shoe to allow the foam to expand in all directions as you run, forming a mould personalised for your specific stride. The pods also vary in size depending on which area of the foot they're covering, including large pods for the heel of the foot to absorb impact and smaller pods for the forefoot. While we have to wait until Aug. 15 for the shoes to become available nationwide, NikePlus members will have access to the Nike Joyride Run Flyknit style beginning July 25. To become a member, all you have to do is sign up for free on Nike's website or the Nike app. Check out the full collection of comfort-optimised sneakers for adults and kids ahead.
