Trainer's Tips For an Effective Fitness Plan

Is Your Fitness and Nutrition Plan Working For You? Here's How to Tell

Finding a fitness and nutrition plan that works for you goes way beyond how much weight you lose or if your body measurements change. It should also fit your lifestyle, benefit your mental health, and make you feel better overall.

Health and fitness coach Sarah Duff (@sarahdufflifestyleandfitness on Instagram) outlined the nine signs to look out for to make sure your plan is benefiting you:

  • You feel satisfied after eating.
  • You have increased strength and stamina.
  • You're sleeping better.
  • Your choices are better and more controlled.
  • You feel energized.
  • Your anxiety has decreased.
  • You view yourself differently.
  • You feel happier.
  • It hasn't taken over your life.

"Your plan should be giving you overall life improvements both physically and mentally, which should make your whole life better," Sarah wrote in her Instagram caption. If your plan makes you feel hungry all the time, anxious, and not sustainable, it's time to make changes to find a plan that will work for you.

"Whatever your plan, it shouldn't be causing you any additional life stresses," Sarah wrote. "It should just be part of you living your life building awesome long-term healthy habits."
