Best Low Impact Sports Bras for Big Busts 2021

I'm a Yoga Teacher With a 42G Bust — These Are My Go-To Low-Impact Sports Bras

As POPSUGAR editors, we independently select and write about stuff we love and think you'll like too. If you buy a product we have recommended, we may receive affiliate commission, which in turn supports our work.

As a yoga instructor and fitness editor with a 42G bra size, I often need my bras to be comfortable enough for me to wear for more than 12 hours a day. That way I can work out in the morning, test out the latest fitness products, then go teach in the evening.

When I do workouts like Pilates, yoga, or strength training, I don't necessarily want to feel like I'm duct taping my chest to myself in a high-impact sports bra. A low-impact sports bra does a great job of holding everything in place while keeping the weight of my chest boulders off of my shoulders.

Ahead, check out some of my favourite low-impact bras from ones I've been wearing since high school to others that have become new favourites. Each slide also contains the size that I wear in case that helps you figure out what size you may be.

Girlfriend Collective: Tommy Cropped Bra

I own seven of Girlfriend Collective's Tommy Cropped Bra ($42) in several colours. This is one of my go-to bras for low-impact workouts because it offers support that can take a little bounce. So I reach for this for all my low-impact workouts from Vinyasa yoga to dance class. I wear an XXL.

Superfit Hero: Superhold Sports Bra

The Superhold Sports Bra ($65) is another bra that is low impact but can handle a little bounce without having my chest fly into my face. I own the 2XL size.

Target: Women's Medium Support Seamless Bra - All in Motion

When I first saw the Women's Medium Support Seamless Bra - All in Motion ($20) on the shelf at Target, I immediately thought "that won't be able to support me" yet the more I looked at it, the more I wanted to try it.

I now own two pairs in an XXL and they both hold my chest without hurting my shoulders. I also like wearing this one with shackets (shirt jackets) in the warmer months so I don't have to make a big fuss when changing for my low-impact workouts.

Balance Athletica: The Refine Bra

The Refine Bra ($55) from Balance Athletica is a great top for teaching in because it doubles as a bra (shelf bra inside) and a top. Bonus: When you're not working out, it makes for a great crop top with a pair of high-waist jeans.

Girlfriend Collective: Paloma Racerback Bra

Before the Tommy Bra (slide one) was released, I owned the Paloma Racerback Bra ($42) from Girlfriend Collective in every colour they made in the size XXL — no, that is not an exaggeration. The long-line design of this bra allows for my chest to feel both supported and fully covered. It's also the bra I'm wearing in the main image of this post!

Athleta: Conscious Crop D-DD+

Truly a classic in the activewear world, Athleta's Conscious Crop D-DD+ ($64) is on this list because it is a bra I find myself reaching for when I know I have to work out in the morning, teach yoga in the evening, and then go out with friends after class. It is a great full coverage crop top (with a shelf bra) that I own in a 1X.

Nike: Dri-Fit Swoosh Icon Clash

Nike's Dri-Fit Swoosh Icon Clash ($35) is one of the first types of sports bras I've ever owned. A quintessential full-coverage style, the sweat-wicking fabric makes this a great bra for hot yoga classes. I'd wear a 2X.

Shefit: Low Impact Sports Bra

While the silhouette of the Shefit Low Impact Sports Bra ($65) is similar to it's high-impact counterpart, this version is definitely much softer. It had adjustable straps to still secure my chest for when I want to practice my headstands. I wear the size 4Luxe.

Carbon38: T Back Bra In Diamond Compression

The soft full-coverage fabric on Carbon38's T Back Bra In Diamond Compression ($78) combined with the "T Back" is what makes me love this bra so much. The T shape in the back takes the pressure off of my shoulders, which is the main reason why it made the list.

Balance Athletica: The Flare Bra

The Flare Bra ($50) from Balance Athletica is the bra that's on my wish list. I already own the coordinating shorts. What draws me to this bra is the sizing. This bra is made for A-C cups and D+. Knowing the stretchiness of this fabric, I'm sure it would support my chest as well.
