If there's one thing I've learned from Netflix's Cheer [1], it's that if you want to make mat, you'd better have your technique on lock, and nobody knows that better than the Navarro cheerleaders themselves. In a video shared to Netflix's YouTube channel, Jerry Harris, Morgan Simianer [2], and La'Darius Marshall watched a few cheer routines from popular TV shows, and they were . . . not impressed, to say the least. "Girl, I need jumps. Like, that's not it," La'Darius commented during a clip from Australia's Going For Gold.
The trio went on to watch clips from Glee [3], Chilling Adventures of Sabrina [4], Bring It On [5]: Worldwide #Cheersmack, and an especially seductive dance sequence from Riverdale [6]. "They took cheerleading to a whole other level with that one," Jerry — aka a living ray of sunshine [7] — said, unable to hold back a laugh. The team's overall consensus? TV cheerleading is more dancing than anything else. Watch the full video above and check out some of the best IRL cheerleading routines [8] of all time while you're at it.
