In a tearful Instagram video, Cody Rigsby [3]'s partner and seasoned Dancing With The Stars [4] (DWTS) choreographer, Cheryl Burke [5] confirmed that she has received a positive COVID PCR test [6]. Over the course of the three-minute long video, Burke documents her journey from driving to her 7 a.m. COVID-test appointment (she woke up feeling rundown and "scared") to expressing remorse over her positive PCR test result.
As her fears were realised, Burke made it very clear that she is fully inoculated with the Moderna vaccine [7], so this seems to have been a breakthrough case. During the latter half of the video, processing her positive diagnosis, Burke "feels so bad for Cody." Having been diagnosed the day before the next taping of DWTS she's unable to perform and must quarantine for 10 days.
Burke left viewers with a strong message. "For those of you who don't think COVID is a real thing, it's [explicative] real."
For those wondering if Rigsby will perform tonight on DWTS? Peloton [8] has confirmed via Instagram that Rigsby will be hitting the dancefloor tonight.
