I Can't Live Without This "HeatGear" I Wear For My Outdoor Workouts in the Fall

23/09/2021 - 11:45 PM

Fall is my favourite season, and even with the temperatures dropping, I still love doing my outdoor workouts. Give me a chilly autumn day in the 50s over a scorching 90-degree day any time! For the last year, I've been taking my workouts outside for a HIIT [1]-style bootcamp class in Carl Schurz Park in New York City. Although I still get warm and sweaty during my fall workouts, I still need some athletic wear that will keep me cosy, especially as the mornings get cooler and cooler in the city.

For these chillier outdoor workouts, I love Under Armour's HeatGear — the Women's UA Tech Twist Crew Long Sleeve shirt [2] ($30) and Women's UA RUSH No-Slip Waistband Full-Length Leggings [3] ($70) are a staple in my fall wardrobe. I tend to run hot, but these staples keep me at the perfect temperature even while doing high-impact moves like TRX squat jumps, banded lateral walks, and bench step-ups.

Keep scrolling to find out more about my favourite fall-weather athletic wear, and why I love them for my outdoor workouts.

Women's UA Tech Twist Crew Long Sleeve

The Under Armour Women's UA Tech Twist Crew Long Sleeve shirt [4] ($30) is the perfect top for my outdoor workout classes because it keeps me warm on cooler days, but I never get too hot, even during the hardest parts of the workout. The fit is also ideal for functional movement: it's fitted so it doesn't get caught in equipment, but it's not too tight, so I feel like I can move around comfortably. Plus, the $30 is a steal compared to other competitors.

Under Armour Women's UA RUSH No-Slip Waistband Full-Length Leggings

These Under Armour Women's UA RUSH No-Slip Waistband Full-Length Leggings [5] ($70) are the true definition of performance leggings. Like the name says, they do stay up on my waist, no matter how many jump squats, burpees, or plank jacks I do. They're made with UA RUSH infrared technology that is designed to reflect your body's energy to keep me warm, and the material wicks and dries sweat quickly. Perhaps the best part? There's a pocket on the side so I can easily stash my phone (if you don't 'gram your workout, did it really happen?)

Women's UA Breathe Lite Ultra Low Liner Socks

OK so even though it's cool outside, my feet still get sweaty during hard workouts. This is why I love Under Armour's Women's UA Breathe Lite Ultra Low Liner Socks [6] ($20 for a six-pack). The low profile means I can wear them with my favourite sneakers and not take away from the sleek look of the shoes, and the light material means they don't make my feet hot and sweaty. I wear these not just for my workouts, but also walking around the city.
