Grab a Friend and Try These Free (and Fun!) Partner Workouts You Can Do Right at Home

I like to exercise with my cat — here's all the proof you need. Although me holding him in my arms while I do squats doesn't make him work up a sweat, if he were human, I'm sure he'd be all for a partner workout. Hitting the gym or exercising at home with someone else forces you to stay accountable. It is motivating and gives you all the more reason to crush your goals — after all, there's a sense of healthy competition, too. Plus, there are specific moves you can do with your partner that will challenge both of you at the same time. Ahead, check out two-person workouts straight from YouTube and ready for you try practically anywhere. Grab a friend, a family member, or maybe even your cat, and get to it!

Fitness Blender will have you doing partner squat and rows, crunch and pass, and what they call "leg raise push down." There are a total of eight exercises, and you'll need anything that's weighted and easy to move back and forth between you (they use a medicine ball and a dumbbell, but you can use whatever you might have handy).

This is a mother-daughter workout but can be done with anyone you'd like! (Class FitSugar host Anna Renderer is doing these moves with her best friend.) This quick sweat session features partner bicycles, a variation of the V-sit, and partner leg presses.

This partner HIIT session will have you doing core moves like seated partner twists and side plank partner claps as well as cardio circuits. Anna will also walk you through a quick warmup and a cooldown stretch.

NASM- and AFAA-certified trainer Amy Kiser Schemper of BodyFit by Amy brings us a no-equipment partner workout. "Working out with a friend really ups our chances of success," she says at the beginning of the video. She's right! A lot of these exercises are about using each other for resistance, and you'll be high-fiving a lot for some extra motivation.
