Simone Biles Breaks World Championships Medal Record

Simone Biles Just Broke the Record For Most Gymnastics World Championships Medals

Simone Biles Breaks World Championships Medal Record

2019 has been quite the year for Simone Biles, beginning with the beam dismount she debuted in August officially being named the Biles after she landed it on Oct. 5 at the Worlds qualifying round. As if that wasn't exciting enough, in August, she landed a triple-double that was talked about around the world in her floor routine at the 2019 US Gymnastics Championships, which officially became a skill called the Biles II after she landed it during the qualifying round at Worlds.

As of today, Simone can add another accolade to her impressive resume: the most Gymnastics World Championships medals for a female. The US won their fifth straight world team title on Oct. 8, making it the 21st World Championship medal to go in Simone's trophy case.

What makes this even more exciting is that this record can and more than likely will be broken by Simone again later this week since the team final was the first of the six events she'll be competing in at the World Gymnastics Championships. In the words of Drake, what a time to be alive.
