If you're stuck in an exercise rut, working out with a partner is a fun, simple way to diversify your at-home fitness routine. Next time you are about to queue up another Peloton class, think about grabbing someone from your household to try Jeanette Jenkins [3]'s latest Instagram workout with you instead.
The celebrity trainer shared seven partner exercises that don't require any equipment — all you need is a friend or family member you're socially distancing with and yourself! She teamed up with trainer and Olympic volleyball player Kim Glass [4] to demonstrate the playful moves, which include jumping jacks, high fives, and even a bonus happy dance at the end.
Check out the exercises below and follow along with the video to try it yourself. Jenkins suggests doing 10-15 reps or 30-60 seconds of each move, and 2 to 3 sets of the whole sequence. Remember to take rest breaks if you need them!
- Squat with side plank
- Reverse lunge to single leg deadlift
- Jack and clap
- Plank hop overs
- Deadlift [5] and shoulder taps
- Bent knee roll ups and high five
- Happy dance!
